Here generations of vineyard farmers have lived among the vines, situated in the valleys, between the rolling hills and on the steep mountain slopes.
Mountain Ridge Wines is an established Cape winery lying in the renowned Breedekloof wine region of South Africa where premium terroir-driven wines have been made for seven decades. Here generations of vineyard farmers have lived among the vines situated in the valleys, between the rolling hills and on the steep mountain slopes. A diversity of soils, aspects and climate pockets allow these vineyards to offer fruit exuding the true character of this unique geographical region.
At the Mountain Ridge Wines winery, the grapes are transformed into a range of wines expressing the age-old harmonious relationship between nature, wine farmer and the skill of the winemaker. The result is a true sense of place, unmistakably Mountain Ridge Wines.
The winery, situated on the R303 between Worcester and Wolseley, is nestled between the Mostertshoek Twins and Elandskloof Mountains, which was the inspiration behind its name.
Originally established as Romansrivier Winery in 1949, the winery’s astounding local and international success in marketing its range of wines bottled under the Mountain Ridge label prompted the decision to rename the winery to Mountain Ridge.
Mountain Ridge offers a selection of easy-drinking, fresh and uncomplicated white and red wines, complemented by a range of evocative and premium oak matured wines.
Wine lovers are invited to experience the fruits of the winemakers’ labour and true Breedekloof hospitality in the Mountain Ridge wine tasting centre. Within close proximity to popular tourist spots like Ceres, Tulbagh, and Rawsonville, Mountain Ridge should be at the top of your list when planning your next wine tour.
